Do you? Have you?
16. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Matthew 28:16,17
The very first time I read this verse, I was filled with righteous indignation. How could they? How could anyone think of... oh, I shudder to repeat it...
They had been His disciples. They had heard Him teach the multitudes and watched Him heal the sick. They had listened to Him tell them over and over again that He would be killed and then be ressurected. And they has seen Him killed, and had heard angels announce His Ressurection. And when they saw the Man Who had conquered death, some doubted...
And then I paused to think. Do I always choose to believe, every time an opportunity to believe comes my way? Have I always held on to His Word as true, ignoring all contrary circumstances?
Do you? Have you?
